Craig A. Champlin, PhD is the Chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds the Lillie Hage Jamail Professorship in Audiology and Hearing Science. He is also a member of the Institute for Neuroscience and the Center for Perceptual Systems.

Dr. Champlin received his Doctoral degree from the University of Kansas and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Experimental Psychology at UT-Austin. He has published research articles in the areas of psychoacoustics, auditory electrophysiology, and diagnostic audiology. His research focuses on the assessment of auditory capabilities including temporal and spectral processing.

Dr. Champlin is an ASHA Fellow and has been an active member of the Association. He served previously as the Editor of JSLHR from 2005-7.

Rhea Paul, PhD, CCC-SLP, is Professor and Founding Director of the Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Program at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, an Affiliate at Haskins Laboratories and the Yale Child Study Center, and Professor Emerita at Southern Connecticut State University. She received her B.A. from Brandeis University, her Master's degree in Reading and Learning Disabilities from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and her Ph.D. in Communication Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

She is author of over 90 refereed journal articles, 40 book chapters and eight books. She has been Principal Investigator on research projects on language disorders and autism funded by the National Institute of Deafness and Communication Disorders, the National Institute of Child Health and Development, the National Alliance for Autism Research, the Meyer Memorial Trust, and the Oregon Medical Foundation. She has been a Principal Investigator at the Yale Autism Center of Excellence.

Dr. Paul has served as Vice President of both the Oregon and Connecticut State Speech-Language-Hearing Associations, and is Past-President of the Connecticut State Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She received Faculty Scholar awards from Portland State University and Southern Conn. State University, in 1996 received the Editor's Award from the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, and was awarded in the inaugural Ritvo/Slifka Award for Innovative Clinical Research by the International Society for Autism Research in 2010. She has been a Fellow of the American-Speech-Language Hearing Association since 1991.

Kreiman received her PhD in linguistics from the University of Chicago in 1987. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, and joined the faculty there in 1990. She is currently Professor of Head and Neck Surgery, and is also affiliated with UCLA's Departments of Communication Studies and Biomedical Engineering.

Kreiman's NIH-funded research program, "Toward Standardizing Perceptual Voice Quality Measures," is in its 19th year, with current studies focusing on development of a perceptually valid model of the acoustic voice source. Additional studies (funded in part by the National Science Foundation) examine the relationships between voice production and acoustics and the uses of voice quality in natural languages.

Dr. Kreiman has served on numerous study sections for NIH. In addition to her involvement with ASHA, she is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the International Phonetic Association (life member), and the International Speech Communication Association, and is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America. She is a previous winner of the JSLHR Editors' Award in speech.
